Teen hand stuck escalator - Teen gets his hand stuck in escalator Crews in Washington, D.C., had to shut down an escalator after a 14-year-old boy's hand became trapped between the steps. The boy, who is a tourist, was in town visiting with his family. According to police, he reached down on the escalator and got his hand stuck. It took crews about 30 minutes to free him and he was then taken to a hospital with no major injuries.
A portion of a Metro escalator had to be taken apart after a teen got his hand caught.The 14-year-old boy was on the escalator at the Smithsonian Metro station when his flip flop got stuck in the teeth of the steps near the bottom of the escalator. When he reached to retrieve the shoe, four of his fingers got caught.
According to the Washington, D.C. Fire Fighters Association, it took crews around 30 minutes to free the teen.
